In the automotive aftermarket, data is more than numbers: it is strategic direction. Understanding what distributors, parts dealers and industry operators are really searching for helps companies align product range, stock and marketing strategies with actual market demand.
For 2025, the Proger Trends Research Office analyzed millions of searches carried out within the ClipParts database, identifying clear trends in:
- most consulted OE and AM part numbers
- most searched brands
- components driving demand
- car models concentrating the highest search volumes
The insights presented in this article come from Proger Trends and Proger Navigator, analytics solutions designed to turn market data into operational decisions.
OE vs AM part numbers: what the market is really looking for
Among the most searched OE part numbers in 2025, one trend stands out: engine maintenance remains at the core of demand.
This confirms that the OE market is still heavily linked to scheduled maintenance and the management of the existing vehicle fleet, rather than extraordinary repairs (Image 1).
FIAT remains dominant, with strong presence also from Ford and Volkswagen–Audi, reflecting the composition of the European vehicle fleet currently in circulation.

In the Aftermarket segment, behavior changes significantly.
Here, higher-value components related to major mechanical interventions dominate, especially in the transmission system. The clutch system is clearly a key driver in the AM market, indicating vehicles with high mileage, more structural maintenance, demand focused on mechanical refurbishment, not only part replacement (Image 2).

To find a part number outside the transmission segment, we have to go down to 12th place, where we find the UFI fuel filter cartridge 26.052.00.
OE and AM Brands Compared
The ranking of the most searched OE brands is highly consistent with the composition of the Italian vehicle fleet. An interesting aspect is the strong presence of brands linked to long-established European groups, confirming that the OE spare parts market remains closely tied to the longevity of vehicles currently in circulation, rather than to new registrations. (Image 3).

In the AM segment, on the other hand, distribution is broader and less concentrated. The market shows greater openness: operators seek a balance between quality, availability and price, spreading their searches across a wider range of specialized manufacturers (Image 4).

Most Consulted Components
The most consulted OE components in 2025 show demand strongly linked to the structural wear of vehicles. It is not only about engine maintenance, but also suspensions and body parts, indicating an aging vehicle fleet that requires more in-depth interventions (Image 5).

In the AM market, the top positions are very clear, highlighting a mix of routine maintenance, safety-related components (braking systems), and more structured mechanical interventions (Image 6).

Most Searched Car Models
Also in 2025, the ranking of the most searched car models is led by long-standing best sellers. The message is clear: the Italian market continues to revolve around small and mid-size vehicles with long lifecycles that are still widely in circulation. This confirms a structural trend — repairing and maintaining vehicles is often preferred to replacing them (Image 7).

Conclusions
The 2025 analysis highlights three key trends:
- The central role of engine and braking system maintenance
- A growing number of structural interventions on older vehicles
- Strong continuity of the existing vehicle fleet, with long-standing models still dominant
It is important to emphasize that these data are derived from users of the ClipParts database, both through its own portal and through wholesale and retail distribution platforms based on ClipParts. This naturally leads to a tendency for users to perform more searches related to older vehicles in circulation.
For auto parts manufacturers and distributors, these data are not merely descriptive — they provide operational guidance to:
- define product range priorities
- optimize stock and replenishment strategies
- steer marketing and sales activities
On this basis, it is essential to highlight that Proger supports automotive spare parts brands with solutions designed to help them better navigate the market. In particular, Proger Trends for search and market dynamics analysis, and Proger Navigator for product range assessment, positioning, and competitive benchmarking.
These tools are developed for product managers and marketing managers who must make decisions in a complex market, where intuition alone is no longer enough: structured data are required.
